Sony Ericsson Satio: Default Media And Files

Don't you love the feeling of having something new to play with? When I get a new 'toy', the first thing I do is go through it to see if there's anything particularly interesting. With S60, a new device usually means new default wallpapers, themes and several other small things. Read on to find my pick of some of the good things that I've found in the Sony Ericsson Satio.

Themes:
The Satio comes with three built-in themes that look great on its 3.5 inch screen. I've extracted these and signed them with certificates provided by my friend P@sco meaning that it'll install on any S60 phone without any certificate worries. Do remember that these themes were designed for the Satio, so they probably won't look as good on other phones. Comments appreciated.

    Hi Mr.X,

I just want to say thank you for all your hard work. It's posts like this and the one on the Ovi Store hack that have helped me to decide to keep my Omnia HD. I really appreciate what you're doing. Keep it up!

@ Ben, thanks for the kind words, I'm glad you enjoy my posts!

    @Jesus, Interesting! Looks cool.

@Pepejosh, That wallpaper is actually part of a theme, but, (unlike many other people...) you asked nicely, so I've made it especially for you. Enjoy!

Nice post Mr. X. Really appreciate it :)
It seems that i lost the pre-loaded ringtones that come in the Satio :(
I did a hard reset and now my satio has only five (5) ringtones in phone memory (Beep.wav , Message.aac , Reminder.aac , Sonyericsson.aac and Wake_Up.aac). Are there any more? Thanks in advance!

    Hi Obsidian,

The ringtones that you've named are what come on the phone's MicroSD card.

On the phone memory, you should be able to find 14 ringtones by opening the file manager (from the Organiser folder in the menu), opening phone memory, selecting sound files and finally opening the sounds folder.

If not, please reply here and I'll upload them for you.

    Mr. X,
Thx for your reply and your concern.
You are right. The missing ringtones are 14.
Hopefully a friend send them via bluetooth and i made a backup too.
Another issue after the hard reset is that i can't preview the default homepage (with green backround color and google search bar).
The path is still the same (file://c:/OWP/default/index.html) but it seems that something missing cause the homepage is totaly blanc (white).
    Any idea?

    Hello Mr X,

Nice site you got here! Was wondering if I were to reset Sony Ericsson's Satio to factory settings (hard reset), will I lose all the games, WisePilot & Google Maps that had been pre-installed in the phone? What else will I lose if I were to reset?

    Thanks in advance!

  14. Mr. X

    Hi Clarify,

I no longer have the Satio with me, but I don't think you'd lose the games or WisePilot as they're installed on the Read-only memory of the device. They'll be safe. I can't remember where Google Maps is installed, but, even if you lose it, you can reinstall it by going to google.com/gmm on your Satio.

Things that you definitely will lose include all messages that are saved onto the phone memory, as well as your contacts (if they're saved onto the phone memory). You'll basically lose anything that you've put onto the phone memory but not the memory card.

Very interesting post. Sony Ericsson Satio is the best mobile in this price range and it is much better in comparison to its rivals. Am planning to buy it soon.
